Indeed announced yesterday that it is turning off recruitment agencies, RPOs and staffing firms from their organic listings as of January in the US and Canada.
In all likelihood, I am sure this will get rolled out internationally over time.
So what does it mean, well certainly those big agencies who get organic responses are going to be significantly affected as Indeed organic is a big driver of applications, and they will need to replace it somehow – which will probably be good for other job boards, but will obviously be more expensive for those agencies affected (Organic is free after all).
Indeed will continue to offer agencies paid traffic, but like Google have always said they want to emphasise the end employer.
They state that it is to improve the quality of search results, the questions is, is it part of a bigger move into the agency sector – last time they did this it was to job boards.
